CUBISM
After two wildly succesful parties, the third CUBISM will blow up Chapeau Rouge on July 22.7.2011. Following up the last events, CUBISM will retain its focus on bringing a mixture of absolutely banging beats, once again drawing on the Central American region, with explosive DJ Robbie Akbal (akbal music, MEXICO) headlining, and Patrice Meiner (BERLIN) bringing in the reings. And of course residents Cubic and St. Claire will be providing seamless mixtures of summer tunes! In honor of Robbie Akbal making the trip from Mexico, the third CUBISM will be themed DAY OF THE DEAD. So dress appropraitely, and drink accordingly!
Robbie Akbal
Mexican up-and-comer talent signed recently by Audiofly for their new Record label Supernature. Robbie has ben pushing the sound since 1993 in his native (Mayan Riviera) Mexico. His music has been supported recently by: Nic Fanciulli, Audiofly, M.A.N.D.Y , Jay Tripwire, Oliver Lieb, Laurent Garnier, Eddie Richards to name a few. He has played all around in Mexico, and in several cities: Costa Rica, Colombia, Miami, London, Copenhagen, Munich, Barcelona, Valencia & many more. Also he has shared the decks with international talents such as: Damian Lazarus, Anja Schneider, Mandy & Dj T, Lee Burridge, Audiofly, LocoDice, Nick Curly, Matt Saffer (The Rapture), Mathew Dear, Minilogue , Einzelkind, Mazi, Jimmy Van M to name a few. In the production side he has been remixed by Luca Bacchetti, Aural Distortion & Metrika. Actually Robbie runs his own label Akbal Music being distributed on Beatport & Whatpeopleplay.
Patrice Meiner
Born in Italy but with a German nationality, Patrice has lived in various countries. From an early age music became a very big part of his life, from playing drums to bass and having a new age punk rock. His style started out as tribal house sounds inspired by dj's such as Danny Tanaglia to Peace Division etc...His style in house slowly started evolving into a more trippy, dubed out sound with a quirky feel to it inspired more on a west coast sound.
Patrice has warmed up dance floors for dj's such as Joeski & Onionz , Jay Tripwire , Peace Division , David Alvarado, Superchumbo , Astro Glyde, DJ Colette , Bill Patrick , Nick Warren , PQM , and many more.
Currently Patrice holds a residency at Club Vetigo opening up for foreign dj's almost every month and has a bi-weekly spot in the Vertigo Lounge area spining a more deep set.
Along side Aaron Wells Patrice has started producing music and other side projects at work as well. Now he's focused on producing and laying down dirty beats in Costa Ricas dance scene trying to display an original style on the dance floor.
St. Claire
St. Claire entered the clubbing scene in 2007 starting on good vinyl. I
In Prague her beginnings can be traced to the legendary Chapeau Rouge, Roxy, Mecca, Summer of Love, Summer Session....This marked her first invitations and trips across the border to Slovakia, where her success was even more widespread. In the summer 2010 she was invited to play in Monaco.
Besides being a talented DJ, St.Claire has also been active promoter, working with influential producers such as : Format B,Lutzenkirchen,Kabale und Liebe,Carlo Lio,just to name a few. St.Claire's resident party - Relaps in Roxy with Brian Sanhaji, is usre to re-appear and reinforce her position on the Czech DJ scene.
Cubic
Dj Cubic or Jakub Kubicek is driving force behind Cubism party.
He has been a staple of the local electronic scene since 2007. From the very beginning he earned respect due to his effortless mixing, super charged energy and positive vibes. His sound now stylishly rides the border of tech-house and techno using minimalist elements which when added to precision timing and Cubics ability to read and react to the crowd sets a tall order for rival local DJ's
At the beginning of 2008, he left to Costa Rica, where he rocked numerous parties.. Resident dj at CUBISM-Chapeau Rouge, in Prague which is new format of party….,alternatively you can usually find him banging beats out of some of Pragues most prestigious clubs such as Chapeau Rouge, Roxy or Retro Music Hall.When Dj Cubic is not in the club, he spends his time in his home studio, experimenting with producing his own music..
